Positive Id help Please
« on: February 23, 2012, 10:33:07 PM »
I have this salt. I have searched and searched, but can find it nowhere... can anybody positively id it PLEASE!
At first glance, it is similar to Meisenthal, or Frankreich, but it does not appear catalogued. French Bayel perhaps?
I just do not know. The gold-stain is original and the figural lady is standing, brushing her hair, as opposed to sitting down. It is heavy for its size at 3" high x 5.5" long. Your help with this piece would be much appreciated.  ::)

I think it's a double open salt, but you may already know that.

Saw a shopwindow once in France where someone displayed his or her collection of double open salts - an otherwise low interest item.  Fthere must have been 300 different ones. I think the chances of positively id-ing one are not good.

Thanks Robert. I don't collect this sort of item, and if I'd come across it I would not have known that's what it is called.   I love this site for learning new information all the time.  I've just used that as a search and it's brought up all sorts of interesting pieces.
