Crystal star Candle holders
« on: February 26, 2012, 11:08:30 AM »
Does anyone recognise these ? They are 13cm and 10cm in height. No marks. They also look good turned over as small vases.
Pete. :-)

Thank you Anne. I  looked through Nachtman 2 weeks ago for a Marc Aurel Vase I had. They do some really nice pieces, the Bosa Nova pieces stand out. Thanks again. Pete

I have listed these on ebay. Would the Mods move this to the correct page if its possible. Or do I need to post in there ?
Pete. :-)

Repost it in Market Place, Pete, and then you can include a link to the listing in the post. :)

Which Marc Aurel vase do you have? I found one a while ago with a sloped bottom, so it stands on an angle:

It was the Manhattan Pattern vase. I have another Nachtmann vase with a swirl cut around from top to bottom, but the boss claimed it to put flowers in ! ;D  I love crystal but don't get to keep much of it but selling it on to people that appreciate it makes up for that in some ways. Im a pinger  ;D and cant help being drawn to shiny objects, must be a man thing. Today in sunny (yes, sunny !) UK the crystal on display looks great. The Star candlesticks especially. It seems I'm easily pleased  :) :)

I've only seen the style I have so far for Aurel, and Adam P has one the same. Could you add pics of yours to a new topic if you've a minute please? They'd be useful for reference.

I agree the crystal star candlesticks look fab when the light catches them, Pete. I never intended to collect crystal but I seem to have accumulated a fair few pieces now! :24:

Amazing .....Crystal, the new drug : )  There is a star candlestick for sale on ebay as well as my 2 but he/she has it listed as a vase. They do look good upside down as well, a little more 'balanced'. I think Marc Aurel is to Nachtmann as Marquis is to Waterford. Do companies do that so people will collect the series ?? Which Photo's do you mean ? the Candlestick pictures on here can be used.
Is there a 'add this to the encyclopaedia' link so we can add identified glass to a reference section. (20th century have something like this.) Im pretty sure it would be a fantastic reference section, even a book (Mods please note) ;D could be done by country and designer name or am I missing a section on here :o

Pete, I meant add pics of the Aurel vases please. :)

Re identified items, we move ID'd pieces into the relevant country/area forum from Glass. We don't have an encyclopaedia section as such, as we use the identified forums combined with the board's search facility.  If you'd like to create your own reference albums we also have GlassGallery, which is a part of the board (it was our only image hosting under the old system before we could add attachments to posts as now.) It's hosted on a separate server, so needs its own login and password, which will then need to be manually activated by me before you can upload images (I check it and activate new accounts regularly). You can create your own albums or add images to the public ones there. The public ones are for specific research areas, in the main, and new additions to them are always welcome.
