I bought this one a while ago but didn't get round so far asking about the etch mark (propeller shaped). I think it could be Scandinavian or German. Inside the rim it has some scratches that almost look deliberate (works with the different shades of grey).

Height 10 cm, base and rim 8.5 cm across.

Any help appreciated as usual,

Astrid

Hi Astrid

there is a thread on this mark here

http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,7369.msg62299.html#msg62299
But I don't think this was formally identified?

Thanks for the link, I'll have another look at the possibly Skruf connection (it certainly has a Scandinavian look to it...)

Sadly not. I never managed to follow the Skruf suggestion by Ivo to an identified mark, and I've never seen it on another piece of glass either. But now there's two of us to keep an eye on it!

I found one for sale today that according to the seller has a Holmegaard label. What do you think, could that be correct?

Here is a little Skruf grouping. The propellor mark is on the jug. The model has recently been copied in Poland, but the quality of the Polish ones is krap - too clumpy and too heavy compared to the elegance of the Skruf ones... The copies in coloured glass which have appeared on the market recently are Chinese.

I think I might've found what the mystery propeller mark is for at last.  ;)

Today at an auction viewing I saw the mark on a box set of glasses, my eyes lit up as I have a couple of vases somewhere around here with the same mark on the base.

This set was made by Cristal d'Arques.

Inside the box was the all important "with compliments..." card from a company called ScanDutch.  8)
Their logo is the mystery propeller mark!
So presumably, they have commissioned these items to be made for them by Cristal d'Arques.
I know the mark has turned up on items by other companies, such as Skruf, so I'm guessing these too are commissioned items for ScanDutch.

I found this little bit of info about ScanDutch here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/reinvented/3432226811/
