Stained Glass Window Newland Church Gloucestershire
« on: March 07, 2012, 07:49:13 PM »
Hello! This is not my usual glass subject... I just happened to see the glass some years ago and it impressed me. I have managed to track the church down but not the artist. If anyone knows anything about the artist who created this stained glass I would be interested to know. It is a dramatic piece of work...

Thanks a lot Christine, the links are useful. Henry Haig is the artist. It is amazing that an artist trained in the mid fifties was doing work like this until 2001, perhaps later. The glass seems difficult to locate in time (for me) and I imagined it could have been 1930's or 50's, but 1990's was a surprise. His style is distinctive and if I see it again, I will certainly recognise it. I wonder if he made any vases! The links give me some more venues to see his work perhaps, thanks again,
