ID hints for Uranium glass vase please
« on: April 12, 2012, 07:17:48 PM »
I have just bought this part frosted uranium glass vase and hoping to find some idea of origin. 7 1/2 inches tall it has clear images of a classical figure pouring water and a frieze around the rim of flying birds (storks/cranes?). All suggestions gratefully received, thanks John

My thought was Jobling, but I can't see it in Baker and Crowe. It's always best to have a photo without UV as well because the colour often gives clues

Thanks Christine, I am attaching a photo in natural light, this glass is very pale green,  almost colourless. John

These have been on the board a couple of times before, see here:

and here:

No firm conclusions yet though it seems.

Definitely not Jobling - as Christine says it's not in Baker & Crowe & it also comes in some very un-Joblingy clours (I'd also say the girls aren't as well modelled as I'd expect from Jobling/ Franckhauser). Inwald or Reich have been suggested and seem to be likely contenders. Hajdamach has it as Sowerby, but i believe this is an error as I've seen no mention in Sowerby catalogues and the some of the colours it comes in are unusual for Sowerby.
