Show and tell for me tonight.

As of 3 weeks ago I had no Beranek pieces in my collection.  I have now acquired in the last 3 weeks, 3 very nice and diverse examples of their work. One, of the more common Pulegoso variety with the pulled color on the sides and the rather "textured" surface. I have also, amazingly, found 2 other examples in what is apparently a more uncommon technique produced early on in a mono-chromatic Pulegoso cased in clear and having a quite smooth exterior surface. The small piece is an early example still having the original label attached to it.  It is also my understanding that these 3 pieces all originate from 1944/45/46.

These pieces range in height from just under 4 inches to a little over 8 inches. My assessment of Beranek production prior to the last 3 weeks, was that their production was primarily like the light blue piece with the color pulls....  I now know how inaccurate my perception was.....  I have a newly found respect for the variety and dimension of their early product line.

Craig, lovely display!

I was not so fond of this style of Beranek when I first saw it, but have grown quite fond of my two pieces now...
The Lichtagova vase is stunning anyway. (It is depicted in Lesley Jackson's book "20th century factory glass", BTW)

It is a really good book with only very few errors (one of them is that she gives the designer's name as Jan Lichtag :) )
Just be aware that there are not as many photographs as one would wish perhaps, but there is a lot of great information in the texts...

The Jan Lichtag attribution in Jackson could well come from Langhamer's The Legend of Bohemian Glass, as that's who Langhamer attributes the piece to. I wonder if it's a translation glitch.
