Amber glass Scottie dog ashtray
« on: April 22, 2012, 03:38:34 PM »
Here is an ashtray in amber glass with two Scottie dogs etched into base. 1930s I was thinking. Anyone able to confirm or maybe even suggest a maker?

Adam would it be possible to upload your pictures directly to the board please?  otherwise in future when searching for references, if the photos have disappeared for some reason, the replies and information become meaningless without pic references.
many thanks  :)

Are you sure the scotties are etched...looks as if the scotties are part of the mold  rather than etched?

They are moulded - there is a green (uranium) example in a local antiques centre.

Thanks. I am using iPad at moment and that won't upload pictures directly to forums. I have windows pc as well and will try and use that as much as possible. I will need to use links however when I am using my iPad. Hope that is ok. The scotties are intaglio and then acid treated.
