Pair of tall vases
« on: April 25, 2012, 02:18:24 PM »
Hi
I am a complete novice - but have been trying to identify these 13 1/2" tall vases.  They have no labels or markings.  Have fallen in love with glass in all its multitude of variations having spent hours looking at different sites trying to learn about my inherited vases.

Any help would be most gratefully received

Regards

Hiya - welcome to the glass message board, hope you have a lot of fun here (as we all do) and that you get some glass identified. Your vases are quite handsome, stable and tall and they're a pair - which makes me think they could have been altar vases - heavy duty, come in pairs and likely to survive the years...

The greenish smoke colour points at anytime 1930s-1970s - though other periods are possible too.  If British or German I could not say - but I'm sure someone will come up with further information.
