Topic: Davidson Orange Cloud Glass Query

Hello Everyone,
I was trawling the Internet today and stopped to browse 20th Century Glass s pages.
Amongst the lovely photos of cloud glass there is one of an orange bowl glowing orange under UV light.
That's a bit exciting I think to myself and grab a couple of pieces off the shelf and give it a go.
I found mixed results, some glow some don't...
Now I knew that Davidson's had changed the composition of this glass from Chris and Val Stewart's web pages but I would like to know which glows the original or the modified?
What is the chemical element/component that gives this glass the glow?
Unfortunately the pieces I grabbed could had been made (according to the Chris and Val Stewart's web site) from either glass mix and none of the pieces easily accessible to me this evening are typical to the Stewart's description!

Well, I can only assume by checking against the list from cloudglass.com and testing another couple of orange pieces that it is the modified batch that glows.
I would still like to know why it glows!
