Thanks for the Ebay link, John.  Shame there aren't better photos of that vase.  I'd like to see more detail and how the base is finished.  The color of that is a bit similar, but not near as deep.  The most curious thing about my vase is that thin, opaque glass around the edge of the rim and how it's been polished down to a more crisp finish.

There might be more details in this link. I suspect the listing is misattributed....

But I do like a nice bit of Tarnowiec!

Well, clearly the Tarnow piece doesn't have a polished pontil.

I don't know how you can tell from that image - I cant.
I have a large Tarnoweic fazzoletto vase - which does have a polished pontil mark. It is not round, but occupies a large section of the polished flat base.

You didn't scroll down to see the enlargements of the vase?  Looks obvious to me.

Yes, I did, which was why I put the pics in - you wanted to see more pics of the vase/bottle, and I had the link to hand. I cannot tell from the pic of the base whether or not there is a polished mark in the middle there.
I don't have a pic to hand, of the base of my piece to show the mark.

Bumped into another Tarnowiec vase today (the handles don't show up clearly in this snap):

I just wanted to add that Polish glass has got a whole variety of base finishes.  I've got two Tarnowiec vases which are identical in shape and style, but different when it comes to the base -- one is completely polished and smooth, the other is polished with a concave pontil mark clearly visible in the center.

Some Polish pieces also have highly polished flat bases and some are left with a very rough and jagged mark where the pontil was snapped off...
