Possible S&Williams threaded bowl,
« on: May 23, 2012, 01:29:52 PM »
Around 3 inches high, polished pontil mark,I'm sure I read somewhere that the 'square' crimping was a S&W 'design' but probably copied I suppose ::) ;D

A hyacinth vase with a similar colourway; amber with ruby threading, crimped top, appears in Patricia's book, and is identified as Stevens & Williams.

Worth noting that in Patricia's book, the vase is shown alongside the actual drawing from the S&W pattern book. But in all fairness to Charles H if you saw all the S&W pattern books then you'd understand why it's difficult to track individual items down. See p.6 The Curious History of the Bulb Vase that has a photo of said pattern book - over 50 (thick) volumes...  :o

Wouldn't it be nice to have all that catalogued?  ;D

They have the same 9 way (18 way?) crimp - I'm wondering if they were done by the same machine if you see what I mean?
