« on: May 23, 2012, 09:15:44 AM »
hi
before i try to find out what this engraved F.K EKO1942 means
it might be helpful to find the maker of this glass
height is 10cm diameter at the opening is 6cm
the blue color might be the right one for holmegaard
unfortunately I don't have any holmegaard to compare with
cheers

There are several Swedish concerns that also made blue glass.  Orrefors, Kosta & Strombergshyttan to name a few.  Many of these larger concerns sold blanks to engravers who chose what they wished to engrave.

The shape of the shield is vaguely Kosta and the miniature septagons are also vaguely Kosta as well.  I suspect this is an award created for 1942 but I have not idea what EDO means.

I can' t make out the detail in the  pictures very clearly, but aren't those the three crowns, the Swedish national symbol, in the middle?
