(Themed) glass displays - show me yours, I'll show you mine... part 4
BlueOctopus:
Another hint... with gas you are so near like no one before
And it is a flattened bulb, like an UFO. The stopper is glued

chopin-liszt:
Is it part of a flowmeter? (something for measuring how much gas passes or is released?)
I'm going to be dreaming about it tonight! ;D
BlueOctopus:
No part of a flowmeter... nice dreams. I guess this is very unik, these sort of glasses did not survive offen.
Onother hint: it is a oneway glass

All I can come up with is a lid for a large flask (5l size) containing 2l of culture medium and a culture of bacteria for incubation.
But when i did that - I made a stopper out of a large cotton wool ball covered in aluminium foil and tied with string around the neck.
Or on top of something fermenting. I have been dreaming of beige yeasty beery froth bubbling up under it in a large test tube. ;D ;D
BlueOctopus:
No, as I said, when I found it, it had a label. It was just an „ordinary“ flask for selling gas. The label said 99,9999 pure Argon gas. The metal lid is sealed, but on the top it has a small little opening where you can go through with a gas tight siringe and suck the gas out. Maybe there is still a little bit Argon in ;D ;D
I think 100 years ago these sort of gas was very costly so you could buy in these small amounts.
