How is the base finished off? If it's polished flat, it could be wfs, if it's a concave moulded base, it's more likely Caithness.
(at least, as far as I know!)

With flat polished bases  ??? I've seen these with wfs labels.  :-\

I believe even wfs collectors have difficulty telling Caithness ones from wfs, (I offered to include a few in the wfs collection I gave to the mould fund but these bits were turned down because of uncertainty) but I'm pretty sure the wfs ones do not ever have the concave rounded base the Caithness ones do.

So perhaps the maxim is;  rounded base = Caithness;    flat polished base = unidentifyable

;D And neodynum ones are Caithness.

I'd say not Whitefriars,.  the general shape of it is too "round" whereas the Whitefriars ones are slightly oval and in some cases are very oval and flattened, depending on which Pattern number you may be talking about.

It was the fact that it was round rather oval which made me think of Caithness rather than Whitefriars

Caithness tends to have marver-flattened bases and ground rims
