Davidsons Cloud vase
« on: March 28, 2006, 04:33:37 PM »
I bought this today in a charity shop, I know nothing about cloud glass really.  I was going to sell it, but it's not a wildly valuable item is it?  And I think it's quite a common colour?  So, if it's not worth very much, I'll keep it and use it I think.

Soooo, erm...just checking it's not worth too much to use really.

Oh, it's 10" tall btw.

http://i1.tinypic.com/sfgtq9.jpg  It's mingingly filthy!

Doh!  I'm sure you knew that anyway

Worth checking out eBay for prices.

Orange?  It looks kind of tortoiseshell to me.  I really know nothing about this type of glass.   :x

Go and have a look at Chris and Val Stewart's site. It's probably worth more than you think. They stopped making this size in 1938 for a start. http://www.cloudglass.com/CatInt.htm

May be amber cloud.  (must get my eyes tested  )  It says amber cloud was introduced in 1928, and these vases came in 6", 8" and 10" size.

Thanks Christine, I accidently stumbled on that site without knowing quite how good it was earlier!  I'm glad I went back and had another look.  :D

Thanks Anne, mine vase must be quite old then.  :)   It looks very 'at home' in my house, which is odd because it's nothing like anything else I possess!  I'm going to keep it.   :D
