Pin wheel crystal cut glass bowl - Bohemian?
« on: July 01, 2012, 04:02:02 PM »
Hi,  Most recently purchased this intricate hand cut bowl.  The top of the bowl measures 8.8cm dia, the overall height 2.6cm.  The base dia. is 7.7cm with a rim height 0.3cm.   The base edge is tapered, which measures 0.2cm at the widest point.  The pattern designs around the sides and base all vary in size including the placement of patterned cuts.  The saw teeth around the rim all vary in size too and their is definite irregularity in height around the bowl.  the catherine wheel cut design is concave to where it meet the outer dia. of the centre star.  The centre star shape  measures approx. 3.2cm dia.  with a tapered height approx 0.6cm.   The daisy shape within the star, I must say, I have not seen before, this also is irregular and not a true circle.  I have tried to research this bowl, especially paying attention to the star and daisy shape to the centre.  Unfortunately I am not having much luck.  I think the bowl maybe bohemian but not too sure.  Your expertise on the subject matter is required and appreciated. :)
