Large Glass Pelican or Stork or Ibis ?
« on: July 05, 2012, 06:41:30 PM »
Any clues on this Pelican ?? It is 27cm in height. It has a blue colour to the glass with a plum coloured streak through it (the colours change light and dark as you move, very effective.)
Pete. :-)

Could the mods tweak the title and add "Stork or Ibis ??" Im pretty good with nature but this piece keeps changing my mind. Any suggestions are welcome : )

Hi Pete, ZBS??  M Janku possibly?  An ibis possibly, or a Heron,  but the curved beak makes it difficult to be certain. I don't think it is a pelican though.  Lovely piece....I like it very much indeed.  :)

I have looked at some of ZBS and M janku pieces. I can see a similarity in colour and style in some pieces but nothing like this bird. I will be listing it soon, probably today. If any more info is found I will update it. The Pics can be used if anyone is interested on here. As for which bird, the Ibis is the only one with a curve to the beak so if no objections on here it is an Ibis. Can I go for 'it is sitting down' so no long legs ;D ;D   Thanks again Rosieposie for your help.   :)
