very TALL amber bark textured vase, molded or pressed
« on: July 08, 2012, 12:25:00 AM »
Hi, this one baffles me, its all of 34 cm high and very irregular in shape.

but still there is what looks like a seam along 1 side.

Anyone seen this sort of glasswork before?

Many thanks

Helga

It's blow-moulded. You can't press something where the top is narrower than other parts and you should also be able to feel the texture on the inside, just not so defined.

Hi Helga.  I could be wrong, but I've only really seen that kind of uneven wavy rim on glass from the Empoli region of Italy.  The base finish is also similar to some Empoli decanters I've had.
