Strange shaped glass
« on: August 06, 2012, 05:31:34 AM »
Hi,
Not sure if anyone has come across one of these strange creations, but if you recognise it, and know of its maker  and/or function, please let me know.
Many thanks.

Neck glass, Holmegaard  designed by Christer Holmgren, without its leather strap.

They are based on the old carriage glasses. I have something similar, also relatively modern

Neil also asked what it's function was  -  is it used in the same way as a stirrup cup?....................you go to parties with this thing dangling around your neck - so you're never short of a glass from which to drink.........down side is that when you leave the party and this thing is left hanging around your chest the dribbles run down your shirt and make it appear you can't hold your booze. ;D ;D

It supposedly hangs the right way up, so would only dribble once you'd fallen over
