2 Murano (?) glasses
« on: August 14, 2012, 05:06:36 AM »
Hi, I am totally new to this board and I hope you can help me. :)

I have two very nice glasses and I am not able to find out where they are from. I guess it could be Murano:

First one are 6 champagne cups, 11 cm high, 9 cm in diameter. The foot is hollow and in clear glass with bubbles and approx 3mm thick. The bowl is in blue.

Second one are 8 Cognac glasses in green (foam?) glass. They are 11 cm high and 7,5 cm in diameter. The glass is pretty heavy and thick.

I really hope, somebody can tell me what it is.

Thank you in advance and best greetings from Hamburg

andyy

Sorry, I can't help other than to say that these don't look like Murano glass. I'll alert the mods to switch the post to the general glass board, where someone might recognize them.

Welcome to the board.  Please post one question per thread as it will otherwise not be possible to archive the results.

I would suspect the coupes are German (either Zwiesel or WMF).

The brandy glasses are most likely of Egyptian origin.

Thank you both, Anita and Ivo !! That helped me a lot. I will check again with Zwiesel.

Regards
