Cased glass vase with butterflies and flowers - ID help
« on: August 22, 2012, 08:53:28 PM »
A pretty vase with butterflies and flowers encased within it, seems well made. Measures 13.5cm tall and is quite thick glass. The base is flat but has an etched/sawn type finish.

Thanks for that but how old can modern be? 30yrs, 20yrs, 10yrs or last 5yrs? or is there no way of knowing for sure?

It is funny how one finds out so much more than one is looking for when searching the net. This vase is a case in point, when searching for "glass butterfly vase" I came across the name "Mayauel Ward Art Glass" on the first link (which I had never heard of). It is of similar construction and weight by the look of his work and it looks very interesting.

In this case, the last few years and probably still being made. We've had these before.
Mayuel Ward is a whole different ball game

Yes, it is glaringly obvious regarding Mayauel Wards work in comparison to these vases and the comparison is good for all to see within one thread I feel.
