A strange flared vase with drops of paint..?
« on: September 30, 2012, 05:29:30 PM »
Hi, this one is 21 cm high and the foot is clearly attached to the vase, like they were separate at first.

Inside are these yellow and orange colour splats that have somewhat melted into the glass.

Weird little twig at the botton there, maybe there was more and it fell off?

Any ideas?

many thanks

Helga

I have never seen anything like it Hel!  :o
It does look like bits of enamel are applied, not paint though.
I am waiting eagerly to hear what others may say. :)

Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)

Looks like they've used fragments of coloured glass which would normally be melted and worked into the clear glass as streaks or spots, but they've stopped the process before that.

I'm probably wrong but for some reason that moulded foot? is it moulded? makes me think Japanese.
I can't say why though  :-\

I´m not savvy enough to know moulded from not moulded.

but it does have an asian ring to it I guess, very exotic.

thanks
