I agree, the lamp stays whole . Though I must admit I thought about it for a moment or two when I took the glass out for cleaning. Probably because i thought at first that it was a 'made up' piece. But finding the made in Sweden and manufacturers mark made me revise that opinion.  Ill clean it up find a replacement for the missing nut and hope that it will be looked on more favourably by the family. If not it may be my first ever sale on Ebay.
Does this mark on the metal part mean anything to anyone?

It will be the manufacturer of the lamp. Boda would probably just have supplied the glass. Holmegaard did the same for Le Klint, and Kastrup for Fog & Mørup.

Can't think who EB might be, unfortunately. I shall leaf through some of my reference materials later if no one comes up with a solution!  :)
