IF I had to guess -- I would say Murano (?)
« on: September 14, 2013, 08:12:18 PM »
Hi there:

Just bought this for a dollar.  I am pretty sure if is Murano but kinda weird colors and has like a little perfect hump on the Center inside (made on purpose) to be that way.  Also has a white line between the pinkish/blue color.  I am guessing Murano as it does have wear on the bottom.  Just kinda weird colors that is all.  Would it be Barbini maybe??  The first 2 pics do not show the color good.  Kinda a pinkish/purple color.

It is:

~ 8.5 inches LONG
~ about 6 inches WIDE at widest point
~ about 2 inches HIGH

My gut says Murano, but not sure....?

I do have another weird color combo bowl that is Murano **HERE .  Also this bowl of mine has that white stripe in it too **Click HERE .  I guess not matter what it is -- For ONE dollar I can't complain....LOL  ;D

Thanks, any input/verification -  Greatly appreciated!!   :)

I would agree likely Murano Rose, this one had a Fratelli Toso label, I thought it looked more 50s than 60s: https://picasaweb.google.com/Johnmj100/GlassFromMurano#5713139085100099570

Thank you John for you informative Reply !! (love your pics too)

Yes I would agree now seeing yours, mine is also FT.....since yours has a label.  Colors seem to match. IMHO too.

It was just I have not seen Murano with that little hump in the center like mine -- that's what was throwing me off to being Murano.  Have you ever seen that "Characteristic" in Murano, by chance ??  I do not think I have.  See the pic below closer of that little hump

The whole funny part is (it seems) when I find pieces -- I always find pieces that are FT.  That is not a Bad thing at all -- just seem to find them all the time.....LOL.  Must have an eye for their work.

Thanks again John for your reply!!   :-*

I would assume the bump in the centre is just part of this particular shape Rose, I get the impression that these bowls seem to have a loose style, perhaps based around seashell like shapes but maybe that is just my imagination. ;D
