How rare is a Walsh Walsh miniature ink well.  Dates to circa 1930 with 1848 date canes inside.
     Diameter is 2.55 inches and the overall height is 3.50 inches.

This piece has clearly at some time suffered damage and had the neck ground down, I would guess it would have been 1 1/2 to 2 inches taller originally. But still a smaller diameter than most I've seen in person although I've seen images of them as small as 2 1/4 inch diameter.

Hi Roger

As some GMB members know, we collect Arculus / Walsh Walsh pieces, mainly because Helen (my wife) was born Helen Arculus.  We have a few small bottles like this, as well as some large ones (and various related millefiori objects like bowls, jugs, tumblers, shot glasses, wine glasses) - as well as a good selection of Arculus paperweights. These small bottles are not common, but they turn up from time to time.

I would agree that the small bottles are relatively rare. However, as Nick notes, this one has been damaged - so I don't think it is worth a lot. A decent condition one should cost you no more than £150.

Sarah has very willingly given me a refund as I didn't want it. The neck was done properly so she genuinely didn't realize it shouldn't be that way. She and I have corresponded recently in a very friendly way and she says she will auction again with as many accurate details as possible.
