Topic: Help Needed To Identify Eric Hoglund Like Bottle Vase. ID = Björkshult

Please can anybody help me identify this beautiful bottle type vase that I recently purchased... It has a smoked grey finish, smooth round polished pontil and square central section depicting a  raised face on either side, one male and one female very much in the Eric Hoglund style... Vase measures 225mm in height and has a textured bark like lower section... It is a beautiful piece and feels very Scandinavian to me... Would it have originally had a stopper?  Any input would be much appreciated... Many thanks... David

Alsterfors may be worth looking into, reminds me a little of some Per Olof Strom designs.....

  Your welcome, your vase reminded me originally of this Alsterfors piece, although I haven't seen the same design as on your vase before. I'm sure someone will recognise in due course, its quite a distinctive design.

Can you get some more detail in a couple of photos, one that shows a face - try turning the bottle a fraction and another showing the base clearly?

Thanks, the new photos are better - now I can see clearly that I don't know.

One possibility might include Wiktor Berndt who produced designs in a naive or primitive style for Flygsfors.

John, who did those mugs with cartoon people on?  it wasn't Hoglund - I think it was a Bjorn someone or someone beginning with B? And it escapes me who the factory was for as well.
