Uranium frosted glass candlesticks leaves
« on: April 25, 2013, 08:16:12 AM »
I found another piece of uranium glass at the flea market this week . Its a part frosted candlestick with a pattern of leaves around the base with a lovely panelled column, the top is unfrosted and highly polished. Any ideas as to its identity, I am sure I have seen it before either here or on Ebay? It glows beautifully under UV

Hmmmm I wonder if that's a marriage, Angela... ? The colour looks like a match but the pieces are stylistically different. Perhaps two pieces by the same maker from different sets?

hi Anne ...I bought the pink dressing table pieces similar to my Uranium candlestick. They appear to be  a set very nicely finished where the top surfaces and the base rim of tray have been polished giving a very nice effect. (Same effect on my uranium candlestick) the band of roses on the candlesticks are similar to the roses on the  Walther Rosen powder bowl I bought last week. (Curiously the seller of the Rosen bowl was also selling a  tray similar to this) Was the Rosen powder bowl part of a set ?

Lovely pieces Angela, the tray looks remarkably like a Davidson 283/4  or 6283 tray, I have seen Davidson pieces in this colour before with part frosted/satinised areas, what are the tray measurements?

Interesting Angela! I've just been and measured a couple of my Davidson trays in the garage and they are also 33cm x 20cm! The style is the same although the trays are clear colours. I do however have some of the matching short candlesticks in pink and satinised underneath.
