Yet another 16 cm version of Brockwitz' "Sunflower and Diamond" pattern came my way today.
They seem to have been exclusively exported to Vienna ;D

Slightly different iridescence, more golden yellow.
And again the same flaws to the base like in my first one (base pics of both attached)

Thank you, Glen! :)
I think there may have been issues with the mould or similar, leading to these flaws.
I cannot imagine they are damages...

I found yet another nice carnival vase today which I am unable to identify; so I may need your help again in the near future ;-)

I feel that they simply features of pressed glass - as you suggest, a mould issue.

I'm looking forward to seeing your vase "find". I hope I can help with it  :)

Thank you, Glen!
A little more research (and your fabulous website of course) finally revealed the ID -- pinwheel pattern by Hortensja glassworks, 8'' version. http://www.geocities.com/carni_glass_uk_2000/Hortensja_PINWHEELcylindervase.html
I thought Hortensja was quite probable from the beginning due to the multicolour iridescence (lots of pink, turquoise and blue, totally different to that of Brockwitz). But I couldn't find it first.
Then it took some time to find out it is not Sowerby. ;D

I attach a pic, which unfortunately doesn't show the iridescence very well.

Excellent acquisition! What a beauty. Yes, that's the Hortensja version.

Congratulations again :-)

Thanks again, Glen!
As my carnival glass collection seems to be growing quite a bit at the moment, I will put your books on my Christmas wishlist ;)
