Is this Whitefriars
« on: May 04, 2013, 10:09:29 AM »
It's larger than the other 9308 weights I've bought (and given as gifts), and I think the base is different - it 'tapers' for approx a quarter-inch before becoming flat; also, the bubbles seems smaller and there's no large central one (which of itself isn't an issue as some don't have them).

Yes - it does.

I didn't look at it properly and thought it was just some sticky crap from a label.

Thanks.

Yeah... I'd never heard of 'em before.

And I just looked again at the photo - with my glasses on I can now clearly see that mark.

What a doof I am to not have looked more carefully before posting.

I took those photos a minute or so after it had arrived today, and I thought 'this doesn't seem right for WF', but only ever having bought 4 9308 weights as gifts I'm not an expert.

It had various bits of paint and crud on the body, and there really is some sticky label-glue-type crap on the base (which doesn't show on the photo) - which I didn't clean it because it came complete with a smashed dish (see attached pic) and after cleaning-up the powdered glass which had spilled when I opened the package I just wanted to file a claim with the eBay seller.

Oh well, such is life.

With the larger bubbles, that one looks quite like the 9308s that I've previously bought.

Am I right in assuming they have low value?

Sold an Arctic blue a couple of weeks ago for £8.00.
More common with the large central bubble except ruby which is are hard to find with the central bubble.
Forget the Webb one gave that  away to the Charity shop  :)
