White Glass Bark Bowl ID = Ultima Thule by Iittala
« on: May 06, 2013, 05:09:43 PM »
Here is a link to a large image of a bowl we purchased today purely because we liked it , it has an air of whitefriars or something scandanavian about it but no nothing of its origin ...

http://www.andrew-davies.com/artglassbowl.jpg

White glass pings like crystal though has a little yellow look to it , has three small feet and a strange square irregular pattern to the underneath , the inside is completely smooth and the crystal / glass is very thick ...

Weight - over 3kg ! , 27cm wide 9cm high ....

any ideas ?  thank you in advance...

A proper side view, the feet... Don't forget we don't have the benefit of having the bowl in reality

No problem , i know what you mean and thanks , i probably should add that the feet are more like three small raised areas in amongst that irregular pattern on the underside and therefore a side view would not show them as the glass pretty much sits on the surface the feet are almost just a design rather than real feet !

I will get another shot done of it once tripod light tent etc is up later in the week ...

Is this the right bowl?  You say white glass,  but the picture is of clear glass.

Also the inset picture is difficult to see on its own, a separate picture would help a lot.

I think it looks Scandi,  but Christine is right,  we cant pick it up and turn it round,  we need you to do that for us please so we can help as much as possible.

Wow Chris & Dirk,  you are so knowledgeable... I had looked at Ultima Thule but decided 'no',  although I was convinced it was Scandi.
