Topic: Palais Royale Watch Holder

Forgive my ignorance. I picked this up recently & finally found an attribution as a watch holder, French. My question is just how small were these watches as both of them I found on line & mine are rather small at 4 1/2" height X 2 3/4" width. Thanks, Ken

My son's have one each and one of them is 1 5/8" diameter, the other is 2 1/8".
Presumably when you gave the diameter it was the diameter of the bowl for the watch, so I would think that both would fit in there

These are old pocket watches
but one is a men's and one a ladies (the smaller).  The larger is quite large in reality and heavy.  Glad we have wrist watches now

The distance between the hook and the bowl is the exact answer you are looking for. The chain goes inside the bowl, the watch is hung up.

ooh I did wonder Ivo -  I hadn't spotted the hook and just assumed they should sit in the bowl on that one  thought it was a bit weird lol.
