I went to a flea market today and came upon this piece of glass. Looking for any ideas on the house that did it. Sometimes you do something you have not done in a while, as it has been years since we went to this market, and within 15 minutes I came across this piece.
It was purchased by the dealer yesterday at a yard sale on the way to visit a relative. I was the first person to see it put out, and was literally jumping our of my skin when I asked how much he wanted.....
This vase stands at 13.25 inches tall, and is 10 inches wide at the scalloped rim. The gold is really hard to capture in the piece, but there is a generous amount of gold used throughout, including the heavy applied rigaree down each side. The image of the label gives a much better idea of the use of gold throughout the vase.
Any suggestions here are welcome. I looked in the Murano label library and could not find this exact label.
This is the second largest example of Murano glass I have ever encountered, the largest being my huge Seguso/Poli bottle form.
Suggestions of maker, or other known examples certainly welcome!!
