Yes Wayne, sorry -- I have corrected it in my previous post.
I have the narrow version in my collection, so I think it is very nice to have it attributed to a country (the maker behind that "S" seems to be unidentified so far)

Thank you Robby for the additional pics -- a pic of the underside of the base is usually more helpful ;)
Mine has a ground base, but not shiny...

Just realised I've had one of these with the "S" label (without Japan), pics attached for reference.  Shiny polished base on this one.  I imagine the label is probably an importer/retailer, going off what usually seems to be the case with labelled Japanese glass.

Oh, very good -- vase and label in one thread ;D

So base finish seems to vary; here is mine which is nicely polished, but not perfectly shiny...
