ID of Manufacturers Mark to perfume bottle
« on: June 25, 2013, 11:31:57 AM »
I have a small blue perfume ??  bottle with stopper that  celebrates Queen Victoria"s Jubilee 1837 - 1897.

Underneath is a manufacturers mark of joined HP  ???  in a rectangular box.  Does anyone recognise this mark?

Many thanks for any help you may be able to give me..

Hmmm that's a new one on me. Can you please add a photo of the whole item as well, as this helps build up a reference of what makers = patterns, plus we like looking at the pics! Many thanks. :)

Possibly produced by Pochet et du Courval.

Hi Anne and Greg,

Certainly will attach another photo.   I agree, great fun looking at the pictures.

Haven't heard of that manufacturer, Greg.  Will have to find out more.  Do you have any ideas where I should look.

Thanks,
Margaret.

Hi Margaret,
If you search google under 'Pochet et du Courval HP mark' there are quite a few references. I know they used an entwined HP mark amongst others.
Greg

Just found this example online, the mark looks similar, although I can't find one surrounded with the rectangular box.

Hi Greg,

Had a quick glance where you suggested.  It seems to say if the bottle has an embossed entwined HP mark on base it was made in
Pochet et du Courval factory after 1930.  Stopper has an image of Queen Victoria and dates 1837-1897, her Jubilee celebration.  Don't know how this fits in.  Stoppers seem to match the bases (I actually have a pair) exactly in colour and fit.

Margaret.

I think we need a picture of the mark as well.

I did attach a photo of base of perfume bottle in my original enquiry.  I hope it is coming up on the board,  here's another.

Thanks.
