A pink glass perfume bottle with bakelite screw-on top. 10x8cm. Marked Regd. 810 980 and 4995.

Is the number in the Blue Book? If so, could some kind GMB member let me have the precise registration details, please? (The registration date should be some time in March 1935).

According to the blue book RD 810980, Registered by 'Vitrea Union Bottle & Glass Co. Ltd 24/03/36.

(Sorry, I should have said 1936 as a putative date rather than 1935 - typo!).

That's certainly a new registrant to me, and googling hasn't revealed anything about them.

Does anyone have any information about the registrant, please?

So, it seems to be the not-uncommon situation of a London agent or importer registering the design in Britain, but the actual manufacture being carried out elsewhere (probably Czechoslovakia in this case), then the glassware imported to Britain for re-sale.

Sadly, I have still do not managed to acquire a copy of the Blue Book, but it might be interesting to see if there were any more Vitrea-registered designs.
