By way of an experiment I am putting this one on Marktplaats, our local auction site which has none of the drawbacks of e-bay (who owns it). It allows you to contact the owner by mail, you can bid and retract, I can deleted unwanted bids, I can terminate when I want - in short, wild west for all.

I like the idea of the site too (but not the tacky adverts... I suppose they are the price one pays. They do however, make your dog look even more refined. )
