Cornucopia vase on floral base
« on: July 07, 2013, 12:04:46 PM »
Strange cornucopia vase, clear ribbed glass with controlled bubbles, dark red floriform base.
Polished pontil mark, edges of the feet are slightly ground.
Height 12 cm, length 13 cm.

I haven't got the slightest idea if it is contemporary Romanian, or considerably older...
So any help greatly appreciated as usual! :)

Thanks,
Michael

Old request, didn't really think of the piece anymore until I found this on CW today:

Could it really be Loetz? ???

As it is stored away it will take some time to dig it up again and check for a mark...

Thanks, Christine!
You are right -- I am sure Alfredo knows what he is talking about.

I was rather trying to express my surprise to find an ID I really hadn't expected ;)

Once you know what you are looking for: >> Link 1, >> Link 2
two more, both of them seem to have the rectangular mark.

Yes, and not very 1930s'ish... (compared to the Loetz Schaumglas pieces with their classical Art Deco shapes)
