The flower-type canes do make it more desirable. The neck is probably more work, too. We'll have to see if it bids up. It is a private auction. That always makes me a touch uncomfortable.

Me, too. I always bid considerably lower in private auction format...
Strange anyway - the auction was finished (with a bid) and now itīs re-listed.

I just noticed that was an old auction. I thought it was current. Is it listed again? Or were you just responding to my oversight? I couldn't find a new listing for it.

Sorry, my bad. Itīs no longer listed. It was re-listed though after being sold.
When you click on my link with the sold piece it states that the seller has listed this or a similar
item again. So unless he got two of these your feeling of slight uncomfortableness with private
auctions may be founded.  ;)
