I can see why it could be considered Mdina but I don't think they made it, no idea off hand who might have made it either, sorry.

The stripey bits do not look as if they were coloured with silver nitrate, but are an opaque colour all on their own - where is the ambery "glow" coming from?
Is it an optical effect? opalesence? an amber casing somewhere?

There are facetted inside-out vases, early, Harris period beasts, but they're nothing like this.
Very nice thing though!

i was waiting 4 your reply....
the amber colour is a cased layer around the inside of the inner bowl....if you look directly down there is the tiger stripe then the amber around .5 cm then the clear cased.....

Looks more like a Peter Layton vase than Harris/Mdina

The cut sides do remind of those Chinese sommerso vases >> Link (first two pics)
Yours is much nicer though with the Tiger stripe interior...

yup, I don't know whether to consider contemporary Chinese or contemporary Polish though.
I might opt towards the Polish side, given it is such a nice beast.
If I'd seen it in TKMaxx and I was in a position to wangle buying it without M finding out, I might well have brought it home and hidden it in the middle of somewhere.
(Can't see the trees for the wood principle.  ;) )
