Cased blue glass vase with black spiral
« on: July 30, 2013, 12:03:42 PM »
Heavy round vase with cased blue layer and black spiral.

The bowl has a label on the base with the numbers 668/135 implying it's a limited edition piece. The writing style looks British rather than Continental.

Approx. 13cm diameter.

Picked it up at a car boot sale and owner said she'd bought it 5-10 years ago from a large department store in town. The store is like an independant John Lewis, and sells glass by companies such as Caithness, Dartington, Stuart, Waterford, etc, rather than Chinese imports.

Any ideas of the maker?

It would be the other way round if it was a limited edition. Looks more like a stock number.

My guess would be Polish

Polish does seem to be a possibility, although the examples I've found online, eg, by Makora, have a ground lip.
I was wondering if it could be Shakespeare glass?

It would be signed. I'm thinking more Krosno. This looks better designed than Makora
