Clear Iridescent Vase with Green Stretch Glass Foot

(1/1)

Connie:
Clear Iridescent Spiral Optic Vase on a green stretch glass base.  There are 2 prominent mould lines running the length of the piece.  It is 6 inches tall and 3.25 inches wide.

I thought at first it might be Spicer Studio piece.  Spicer Studio was in Akron OH in the 1920s. I don't know much about them other than an ad in Weatherman's Colored Glassware of the Depression Era 2.  But this piece reminds me of their pieces.

Connie:
Look familiar to anyone?

glasswizard:
Connie, I have pondered this and I don't know why, but Tiffin springs to mind. I could be way off base, but at least a place to start. Sorry Terry

Connie:
Terry, thank you for your comments.  I agree the spiral optics and iridescent fit for Tiffin. But IMHO, the finish does not. In my experience, Tiffin produced higher quality glass with a better finish and would not have left such prominent mould lines. I did look through my 4 books on Tiffin and did not find anything similar.

But I did find this piece on eBay

I am wondering if it could have been produced at another US Glass factory. I also think it might be the bottom to a candy jar.  I thought that was a possibility from the start but sould not match the shape to any candy jars documented.

The hunt  continues .....
