Fused Glass Panel Lamp with Stainless Steel Supports
« on: August 29, 2013, 10:33:18 PM »
I believe this lamp falls within the category of "fused glass," a technique favored by some of the finer Murano producers in the 1950s and 1960s.  I'm not certain, however, that it is fused glass, Murano or even older than (say) the 1980s or 1970s, but I thought I'd inquire.  Any insights would be appreciated.

Vistosi produced quite a few wares in the 1980s with a technique that seems to have used molten glass poured into a flat mould already containing pre-made glass elements to create a crisp incalmo-like effect, with the results then slumped into bowls, flat sculptures, picture frames, etc.
