18th century tumbler
« on: September 10, 2013, 08:09:37 PM »
I recently vought this tumbler. On one side is engraved a man with a horse.  On the other are the words

Vivat herr Ocholtz in windorff werth
hier bring ich ein ungersch pferd
von wienn herrin aüs ostereich
hir umb ihm wird dein keines gleich
Kostet 1710 T27. IL

Also with laurel chaplet `GS` over a wheel cut figure holding a horse. 4 1/2" high

I've had a go at translating this and think I've made some sense of it but would be interested in your ideas.
