ID No. Greener? basket
« on: September 28, 2013, 06:49:07 AM »
I have seen this posy basket a number of times but not recently and have forgotten where to find the details again.  As far as I know it is Henry Greener but I would like to know if it has a pattern number or RD. number so I can date it.  Thanks in advance if you can provide these.  It would be great to be able to go to Kew but transport cost is a bit high for me to do this (from Oz).

Thanks Lustrousstone for the link to photo.

My amber basket is certainly the same as clear one in your photo.  My reason for identifing this as Greener was from information given by previous owner.  The lovely lady told me Colin Lattimore identified it as Greener at Birmingham Glass Fair.  Don't know if this is possible or probable.  Maybe I should have looked further to double check.

Since receiving post from you I have found it in a publication of George Davidson Catalogue 1 and 2 - covering years C1880 to 1890.     Is under pattern number 234, as in your photo, but no exact date or if it was registered.

The knowledge of you and members on this Board is amazing.  Thanks again.
