Caithness - one no name , one no etch at all.
« on: October 08, 2013, 09:34:27 AM »
Hi,

I have two pieces here that I cannot quite identify.

The red white and blue, with eagle in flight is etched Caithness on the bottom, but no name or issue number. It looks really familiar, and I'm guessing may have been made specifically for the US market.

The blue, with Otter, is actually one of those Caithness pieces that is clear, with a back color of blue, making the whole piece feel blue, until you look from the side. The bottom has no etch of any type, but I've seen that on these blue designs before.

The second Pwt is actually a seal of some sort.  The tail is all wrong for an otter.  If you look at Chris's link for the otter you will see what I mean.

Just found your first Pwt on page 290 of the Caithness book.  "Eagle in Flight" designed 2002 by Alistair MacIntosh & Willie Bain.  Listed as active - means an unlimited edition not a limited edition.
