Art Deco/Modernist charger marked FRANCE ?
« on: September 05, 2013, 12:43:10 PM »
Can anyone help me with an ID for this large shallow glass bowl or charger please :) It is frosted on the outside and smooth inside there is a moulded mark which just says FRANCE it measures 29.5 cms diameter. I am not sure whether to call the abstract pattern Art Deco or modernist? It is very crisply moulded and the pattern is in very deep relief. It stands on three 'feet' part of the pattern and shows slight signs of age related wear to the feet otherwise it is in very nice condition. Any ideas welcome ;D

Oooh that's nice, Angela! It's not a design I've seen before, but I bet someone might have some ideas. Datewise I'd guess 1930s from the style...
Cheers! Anne, da tekniqual wizzerd
