Hi Keith,

These are new to me, though I do have a Lancer tankard with the same coaching inn transfer.

I have these tankards with the familiar hunting scene transfer seen in David's book and have then in yellow and brown but I thought the brown was just the yellow discoloured with age but this tells us they were actually made in brown.

Thanks for the posting.

This is the Nov/Dec 1953 issue of Chance Comments. The tankards were probably made around 1950, and I think there might even be a clear one. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if one turned up, some time, with the royal coat-of-arms for the 1953 Coronation. But no pressed glass was produced for the domestic market after 1953, although that would not have excluded any commercial commissions Chance received.

I think I have one in clear, I'll see if I can dig it out!

There is another style apart from the straight sided ones, which has vertical panels down the side:

It also confirms there is a clear one (thought I remembered it from somewhere!)

Keith, your brother might be interested in this:

I have several Chance adverts in monochrome, so the colour one is quite scarce.
