Hello,

Found this info on the italian site...

The Glass D'Este P. conducts its business in Venice. The Glass D'Este P. was founded in 1965 and is still a family-run handicraft company. The Glass D'Este P. manufactures any product by hand with the technique of reticello, the murrine, the finishing 24 k gold leaf, the zanfirico technique and many other techniques inherited from the former master glassmakers. The Glass D'Este P. guarantees  customers with unique and inimitable pieces.

VETRERIA D'ESTE P. - DI D'ESTE DAVIDE

D’Este Glass Company was created in 1965 by glassworkmen from Murano, this “maestro” passed the activity of the Company to his sons in 1995.D’Este has always been a family company. Nowadays there are 6 people working in this company. D’Este production is basically an artistic production everiything is hand made : “reticello”,”zanfirico”,”murrina” and “golden leaves” (al these are very ancient different kinds of working the glass: reticello” is a way of working using very thin pieces of glass tended in the oven at 1200 degrees, one on the other to abtain a kind of cage design: This method has been passed from dad to son through the centuries. “zanfirico” is a typical Murano way of working the glass using glass to obtain an internal spiral design, you cand find zanfirico only in Murano island. “Murrina” is a very difficult and complicated way of working the glass using very small pieces of coloured glass, put all together creating a sort of stick. the sticks are cut in very small pieces and put all together creating a flowery effect. “murrina” too is very ancient way of working with glass.

Everything can be refined with 24 K. golden leaves.
