They are more likely abbreviations, so unless someone recognises the language you will get nowhere. When you look at old writing etc. on stuff, "text speak" was pretty common if there was little room (nothing is new)

Wondered why a postcode was posted until I looked  ;D ;D I have a question, is the writing only in the clear or does it go all the way round through the blue ? It's not clear to my eyes
Pete. :-)

I think the name might be Johan Fsije

Brnyi means more in Serbian.  It's written in two sets with the inscription on the top and the bottom being the name I think.
The writing looks like a Hungarian glass I've come across hence my reposting.
Can you write the inscription out starting with one of the capital letters on the top line and writing all the letters that follow.
Then the same on the bottom line starting with the Jo and following it around.

I dont' think it's abbreviated because some of the inscription appears to go onto the coloured overlay unless I'm seeing shadows on your photos.

I did a little photoshopping, and put the pieces in the order I would think makes (at least) a little sense ;D
Still not much wiser, but at least I am quite sure that the first word reads "Johan" and probably a family name to follow. The "sch" is frequently used in the German language...
So perhaps Czech?
The "Brnyi" could be a declination for the town Brno?

Michael

You are so clever! I couldn't work that out.
Thanks - can have a little play around with the words and languages now and see if we can find a country of origin.

(I have a whole day to devote to glass today having finished a major project, so it's my treat  ;D )

Johan is a Hindi origin name

re har sch ka translated on google as Hindi gives 'each ray of truth' (I guess it is translated phonetically though so not sure whether that has even a chance of being correct)

I have failed on the rest of it though.

Ok, I think Johan Fsije is the name and then the other two panels read top bottom then top bottom

It is a phonetic translation of Hindi it seems

So Rehar Brnyi sch kaRo is 'Under Brni true friendship'  - however I do not know how the 'doig' fits in.  If I add that it changes everything.  So perhaps I just got lucky on the google and it's not really Hindi at all  ;D

See above

and there was a Johan from Brno
who is mentioned here

Johann Gregor Mendl (born 1822) Abbott of the Augustinian monastery in Old Brno, who laid down the basis of modern genetics. His work wasn't properly understood until 40 years after it was first published. The town has a square named after him.

Might it be your Johan?

No, it can't be as it's too late on for that glass I think.
mmm ... it's a puzzle

I wonder if this might be Croatian?

glass here that made me think of the writing on yours because of the formulation of the words:
https://artsandculture.google.com/asset/stem-glass/XgGiO0eNYOliNQ?ms=%7B%22x%22%3A0.5224251987789857%2C%22y%22%3A0.46750758410203197%2C%22z%22%3A9.327763777545167%2C%22size%22%3A%7B%22width%22%3A2.2346018025984353%2C%22height%22%3A0.618768615796089%7D%7D

See page 'seite 44 von 53 seiten' top right hand there is a glass with a red panel and writing on it.  It just reminded me of your glass.

When I used google Translate, 'doig' comes up as the word 'relegation'.

I think the first letter of your second line is a Z.

Ka means 'There is' or 'There are'
