Uranium bolt head shape crystal candlestick
« on: November 14, 2013, 11:55:00 PM »
Height 11.8cm

Can anyone identify this three footed spiral end candlestick.  I'm only guessing,   probably made in the 19th C.  My search has not revealed anything that resembles this.   The spiral pattern feet are not something I've seen before on a crystal candlestick.  What I have observed though, is that the candlestick is made from three sections, which I presume is called 'three mold'.   The feet also display a continuous prominent outer line..   The surface of the candleholder is ground polished and the central edges are extremely sharp.  The candle glows very brightly under uv.   Your help is greatly appreciated.

Bagley "State" pattern 3098 LINK made between 1939-1975 (Source: Bowey & Parsons, Bagley Glass).

There is a similar pattern by Libochovice (pattern 1886) which is 110mm high and does not appear to have the pattern round the candle cup. (Source: Newhall, Art Before Industry).

I certainly did not expect an Id so soon, Thanks Anne.   Since your link, I was able to find your past info./thread,  inc. an  Ebay item no. 360761532292.  I was unaware that this item was part of a trinket set.    I would love to find a complete Bagley state candle set, that is, in this pattern/uranium   ::).   I am interested to know, if you ever came across a complete uranium set before?   It's just that I am having difficulty during my research to find the same candle(uranium), whether as a separate item or, a complete set as shown in the diagram with ref. to your link.
